The Man With The Magic Wand --- by Chisom Patience Ukachukwu

The man Ifeanyi Ubah needs no introduction.

As a business magnate, a seasoned politician, a philanthropist par excellence and yes, a happily married family man, he has shown himself worthy of trust, respect and indeed more responsibilities.

Born in the year 1971 to Mr and Mrs Alphonsus Ubah, he has grown to become the delight of everyone, possessing what people now fondly describe as the magic wand. This is not surprising because whatever he touches flourishes. The background of Ifeanyi was so humble his parents were unable to see him through school. This necessitated his entry into business at a very young age where he, as a result of sheer doggedness and discipline, has become very successful.

It is said that if you want a tasty meal, you must spend money and ensure all the ingredients are available. But I dare say that is for average cooks. A very good cook would still find a way of making something very tasty without the presence of every ingredient. This is where ifeanyi Ubah belongs. His personality and track record over time presents him as a man with so much to offer even with so little at his disposal.

In business, Ifeanyi Ubah has distinguished himself as a seasoned manager and administrator. His leadership prowess is not in doubt. The personality of Ifeanyi Uba presents him as a humane, God fearing, caring and very humble gentleman who would stop at nothing to see that people are made to live comfortably.

For instance, on several occasions when fuel scarcity was almost bringing the country to a halt, he displayed an unrivalled level of concern and  patriotism by going against the orders of the cabals or if you like, the powers that be to release his vessels so people can have access to premium motor spirit (PMS, or fuel as we call it). Actions like this can only be driven by persons devoid of selfish interests. Ifeanyi Uba does not place self above others and this is one of the qualities that distinguishes him from an average politician.

It is said that one cannot fully understand a situation if he/she does not put himself into the shoes of those in that situation or become a participant observer.
There is little one can actually do to affect the lives of a large part of the population if the right platforms are not created.

This informed Ifeanyi Uban’s entry into politics. For starters, it would be considered a misnomer judging from the general assumption that everyone delving into politics in Nigerian is doing so for pecuniary reasons. Critically looking at this, it might pass as the truth considering the fact that most politicians that have been entrusted with managing the affairs of the country at the various levels have only succeeded in arrogating our common patrimony to themselves. However, Ifeanyi Ubah’s desire and penchant to become the governor of Anambra state is deeply rooted on his selfless urge to serve Anambrarians on a larger platform so as to affect the lives of the majority of the population. From Ifeanyi Ubah Fc to Ifeanyi Ubah foundation, the desire of this man to create jobs for the youths, alleviate the sufferings of poor members of the society, improve the terrible state of infrastructures in the state and bring probity to governance is not in doubt.
The current administration of Anambra state is a sham. This explains why the state is in a shambolic condition.

The affairs of government in the state are not being taken seriously as the governor who should lead the way has become a ‘drunken master” who has little or no time to think and come up with innovative ideas on how to run the state better. Well, it was expected. As a man who has never had the opportunity of growing a business from scratch to zenith, his level of mediocrity is understandable. However, Anambra deserves better. Anambra deserves the “magic wand” of Ifeanyi Ubah who has grown businesses from scratch to international brands. As it is often said, he that is faithful in little can be entrusted with much.

The achievements of Ifeanyi Ubah with the little or nothing he was given shows that he will do much more if entrusted with the affairs of a state as dear to his heart as Anambra.
The only achievement of the current government of Anambra state is the employment of hundreds of aides who have become nuisances not just to the citizens but also on the budget of the state government. This has to stop. Our dear state cannot afford to toe the line of other states who are unable to pay salaries due to poor management. Billions of loans have been collected by this government and there is nothing, absolutely nothing to show for it. We understand that facilities are desirable if they are taken to achieve infrastructural development which would in turn stimulate the economy.

The case is different currently as the government only collects loans and pockets it for jamborees and white elephant projects.
Given the chance, Ifeanyi Ubah will turn Anambra around. He would further harness the potentials of Onitsha and Nnewi making them business hubs of choice for people within and outside the country. He would create an enabling environment that would ease the stress of starting and doing business in the state. The era of multiple taxation that has been turning investors away and discouraging those that want to start businesses would be over. Jobs would be created for the teeming youths of the state. This is not just a phrase, it is something he has been doing and wishes to do on a larger scale if given the opportunity. The security of lives and properties in the state would be taken more seriously and there would be an aggressive effort towards infrastructural development.

Indeed, entrusting the affairs of Anambra state into the hands of Ifeanyi Ubah would be the best decision anmabrarians would take in 2017 as we all would be the better for it.

A call on Chief Felix Idiga (JAFAC), a man who has gone far ahead of his time to take up leadership positions

For the last couple of years, The Mo Ibrahim Foundation which annually confers the most outstanding leader award to African leaders who have distinguished themselves in the art of leadership, has refused to confer the award on any of the present African leaders reason as cited by the foundation is that none of them is worthy. But, does this translate that they're dearths of leaders in African? Read on. It's true that leadership in Africa is currently being led by those whom political profiteering has become an unquenchable vision- Men whose drive is their personal enrichment; the prosperity of the nation becomes a lesser issue to that of themselves. It's also true, that Africa has obscured their best men from assuming leadership positions. Men who have created wealth and jobs for their communities without being in an elective leadership position. Men whose fecundity is unquestionable and whose loyalty lies always with the people. Men to whom leadership is natural ha...

ANAMBRA PDP PRIMARY: Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah heads to court.

Barely three weeks after the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) conducted its governorship primary in Anambra State, one of the aspirants, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah, yesterday questioned the credibility of the primary and vowed to achieve justice in the court of law. Addressing newsmen in Abuja, Ubah accused the leaders of the party of using fake delegates’ list to conduct the primary, adding that the certified copy of the list he got from Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was different from what was used at the primary. Kicking against the primary, the Chairman of Capital oil described it as a show of shame, adding that Oseloka Obaze, who was declared winner, was never given a waiver by the party National Executive Committee (NEC). Ubah, who said that he has exhausted all internal mechanism of the party, added that “I think it is the court that can address the situation now. We are going to court and if ...
