The man Ifeanyi Ubah needs no introduction. As a business magnate, a seasoned politician, a philanthropist par excellence and yes, a happily married family man, he has shown himself worthy of trust, respect and indeed more responsibilities. Born in the year 1971 to Mr and Mrs Alphonsus Ubah, he has grown to become the delight of everyone, possessing what people now fondly describe as the magic wand. This is not surprising because whatever he touches flourishes. The background of Ifeanyi was so humble his parents were unable to see him through school. This necessitated his entry into business at a very young age where he, as a result of sheer doggedness and discipline, has become very successful. Frontline Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the November 18, Governorship election in Anambra State, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has debunked reports making rounds on social media and some news websites that he has defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC. Ubah, who averred that he remains focused to clinching his party's (PDP) ticket, stated that such fake news won't distract him. A recent, striking post on facebook got me thinking about our nation Nigeria, and how negative stereotyping, has been wrongly and badly deployed against a people. It is about what activist writer, Jude Ndukwe posted on his wall on Tuesday, August 22, 2017: “It has been empirically proven that the Igbo are the least corrupt people in Nigeria. The "Igbo too like money" thing is false.” Although he did not go further to justify the empiricism behind this salubrious prognosis, but I dare say that this assertion is firmly rooted in the logic, appraisal and history of the Nigeria’s corruption profiling, to date. As a food for thought, I intend to interrogate this comment (post) in the context of who I think should be the choice of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, ahead of the Saturday governorship primary.
