NNEWI URBAN : An industrial urban to a sports hub, a story of Ifeanyi Ubah's sagacity

Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, FC Ifeanyi Ubah continues to play host and guest to the World.

Anambra State and Nigeria cannot afford to hastily get used to this phenomenal development in her sporting world.

When the Chairman, Capital Oil & Gas, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah concieved the idea to build the best privately-owned football stadium in Africa, it seemed like an unattainable feat, but finally, it has become a reality as Nnewi, Anambra State has begun to play host to other Nigerian football formations, in the different local leagues and  Africa, in the various seasons' CAF Confederation Cup competitions and friendly outings.

The Anambra warriors has become a force to reckon with in the comity of football teams in Africa and the world at large. This is  about the magic wand of the human-capital developer of Anambra state - Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.

It is all about what one sees. The power of vision anchored on human advancement. Give it to Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

What started as a mere dream has been actualized. What once existed in the mind has been translated from its theoretical state to a structure that would impact positively to humanity. Through the unwavering determination of one man,  what could once be referred to as a "playground" has been transformed into a world class stadium in less than 12 months. Anambrarians can only be very proud and thankful to God for the mileage attained in this sector  that has the capacity of attracting chains of employment to the teeming Anambra State youths which has the capacity of calming restiveness, vices and crimes.

Just like the popular saying "all works and no play, makes Jack a dull boy", Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has been able to bridge the monotonous lifestyle that was typical of the Nnewi/Onitsha business owner/entrepreneur. It used to be about buy, sell and retire home. But now, it has actually taken the twist of buy, sell, then possibly go to the FC Ifeanyi Ubah's Nnewi games village to relax and see few live/televised football matches before going home ultimately.

Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah has therefore done well in elongating the lifespan of Ndị Anambra and creating jobs in same vein. Nnewi can now boast of sports entrepreneurship, as well as commerce/industry.

Today, FC Ifeanyi Ubah and Ifeanyi Ubah stadium is strategically positioned and poised to take on Africa. In just under two years, he has been able to reach enviable heights, winning two trophies in not many years of  existence, is an unprecedented feat.

THE HANDSHAKE ACROSS THE NIGER A MOVEMENT LONG OVERDUE

Before the Nigeria independence, the Yorubas has been the greatest host of the Igbo tribes including their business empires and white collar hobs. Since I was born, I have never heard of any communal clash between this two great ethnic groups as their relationship keeps on soaring to greater height. Many of us with short historical knowledge, never knew that the independence we enjoy together as a nation was struggled and attained on a platter of The handshake across the Niger. How do I mean? The N.C.N.C that struggled and attained Nigeria's independence in 1960 was founded in 1944 by Late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Herbert Olayinka Badmus Macaulay, Akintola and Michael Okpara and Nwafor Orizu of blessed memories , It was a combination of both ethnic effort of Yorubas, Midwest of Chief Okotie Eboh, Micheal Okpara and Nnamdi Azikiwe that made our independence possible. As at 1957, Nigeria was due for independence and the West and East were fully prepared but what delayed the independence ...

A call on Chief Felix Idiga (JAFAC), a man who has gone far ahead of his time to take up leadership positions

For the last couple of years, The Mo Ibrahim Foundation which annually confers the most outstanding leader award to African leaders who have distinguished themselves in the art of leadership, has refused to confer the award on any of the present African leaders reason as cited by the foundation is that none of them is worthy. But, does this translate that they're dearths of leaders in African? Read on. It's true that leadership in Africa is currently being led by those whom political profiteering has become an unquenchable vision- Men whose drive is their personal enrichment; the prosperity of the nation becomes a lesser issue to that of themselves. It's also true, that Africa has obscured their best men from assuming leadership positions. Men who have created wealth and jobs for their communities without being in an elective leadership position. Men whose fecundity is unquestionable and whose loyalty lies always with the people. Men to whom leadership is natural ha...
